Electroanalgesia with the NeuroMed Matrix System
Clinical-grade electrical stimulation that interrupts pain signaling pathways, stimulates endorphin release, and addresses both acute and chronic pain with precision far beyond standard TENS devices — without medication, without side effects.
Pain relief that works at the neurological level.
Electroanalgesia is a clinically advanced form of electromedicine that uses precisely calibrated electrical frequencies to modulate pain signaling at the neurological level. At Hydraspa, we use the NeuroMed Electroanalgesic Delivery System with the MATRIX System software — the only medical technology of its kind that employs specially designed Multi-Algorithm, Multi-Frequency programs alongside a High Definition frequency generator (HDfg)™.
The science behind electroanalgesia is grounded in a fundamental principle of clinical electromedicine: any medical therapy can only stimulate, facilitate, or inhibit electrical or chemical processes in the body. The NeuroMed Matrix System works by delivering pure high-frequency signals and high energy directly to targeted tissue — interrupting the transmission of pain signals along nerve pathways, stimulating the release of endorphins and enkephalins, and improving local circulation to accelerate tissue healing.
Unlike standard TENS devices, which provide only temporary surface-level relief, the NeuroMed Matrix System's multi-algorithm approach addresses both the neurological and circulatory dimensions of pain. It has been used in hospitals, universities, VA medical centers, and integrative clinics for over 37 years — with a track record of excellent patient outcomes for both acute and long-term intractable pain.
Hydraspa is proud to offer this technology as part of our comprehensive pain recovery program, providing patients with a powerful, non-pharmaceutical alternative to pain management.
How the NeuroMed Matrix System works
- Multi-Algorithm, Multi-Frequency Programs
- Unlike single-frequency TENS devices, the NeuroMed Matrix System runs multiple simultaneous algorithms — each targeting a different aspect of pain signaling, nerve conduction, and tissue response. This layered approach produces outcomes that single-modality devices cannot replicate.
- High Definition Frequency Generator (HDfg)™
- The proprietary HDfg™ delivers pure high-frequency signals with exceptional precision, allowing the system to target specific nerve pathways and tissue depths. This level of control is what separates the NeuroMed system from conventional electrotherapy devices.
- Pain Signal Interruption
- Electrical signals are delivered to targeted areas, effectively interrupting the transmission of pain signals along peripheral nerve pathways before they reach the brain — providing immediate relief during and after treatment.
- Endorphin & Enkephalin Stimulation
- The system stimulates the body's own natural pain-relief chemistry — triggering the release of endorphins and enkephalins that reduce pain perception and promote a sense of wellbeing that extends well beyond the treatment session.
- Circulatory Enhancement
- By improving local blood flow and lymphatic circulation to treated areas, the NeuroMed system addresses the vascular component of pain — particularly important for patients whose pain is caused or worsened by circulatory disorders.

Individual results vary. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. This treatment is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
How often should you receive electroanalgesia?
- Acute pain: 3–5 sessions per week for 2–3 weeks, then reassess
- Chronic or intractable pain: 2–3 sessions per week as part of an ongoing protocol
- Circulatory disorder-related pain: frequency determined by clinical assessment
- Maintenance after initial series: weekly or bi-weekly as needed
- Paired with IV therapy and microcurrent: same-day sessions for comprehensive pain recovery
- Our clinical team will design a personalized protocol based on your pain history and goals
Who is electroanalgesia right for?
- Individuals with chronic or long-term intractable pain unresponsive to standard treatments
- Patients seeking to reduce or eliminate dependence on prescription pain medication
- Those experiencing pain caused by circulatory disorders or peripheral vascular conditions
- Post-surgical patients managing residual pain and nerve sensitivity
- Athletes and active individuals recovering from acute injuries
- Patients with neuropathic pain, nerve damage, or complex regional pain syndrome
- Individuals who have not found adequate relief from standard TENS therapy
- Anyone looking for a non-pharmaceutical, evidence-based approach to pain management
Common questions
- How is the NeuroMed Matrix System different from a standard TENS unit?
- Standard TENS devices deliver a single frequency to temporarily mask pain signals at the surface level. The NeuroMed Matrix System uses Multi-Algorithm, Multi-Frequency programs and a High Definition frequency generator (HDfg)™ to simultaneously address pain signaling, endorphin release, nerve conduction, and circulatory function. The result is a depth and duration of relief that single-frequency devices cannot achieve. The NeuroMed system has been used in hospitals and VA medical centers for over 37 years — it is a clinical-grade technology, not a consumer device.
- Is electroanalgesia painful or uncomfortable?
- Most patients find electroanalgesia comfortable or even relaxing. The electrical stimulation is carefully calibrated to therapeutic levels — you may feel a mild tingling or warmth at the treatment site, but the sensation should not be painful. Our clinical team adjusts intensity based on your comfort and response throughout the session.
- How quickly will I notice results?
- Many patients experience meaningful pain reduction during or immediately after their first session. For chronic pain conditions, results typically build over a series of treatments as the neurological and circulatory effects accumulate. Our clinical team will track your response and adjust your protocol accordingly.
- Can electroanalgesia help with pain caused by circulatory problems?
- Yes. The NeuroMed Matrix System was specifically designed to address both pain and the pain caused by circulatory disorders. By improving local blood flow and addressing the vascular component of pain, it is particularly effective for patients whose pain has a circulatory origin — including peripheral vascular disease, diabetic neuropathy, and related conditions.
- Is this a replacement for my pain medication?
- Electroanalgesia is a powerful complement or alternative to pharmaceutical pain management, but any changes to your medication should be made in consultation with your prescribing physician. Many patients find they are able to reduce medication dosage over time as their pain responds to treatment. We work collaboratively with your healthcare team to support your overall pain management plan.
- Are there any contraindications?
- Electroanalgesia is contraindicated for individuals with implanted electronic devices such as pacemakers or spinal cord stimulators, and should not be applied over areas of active infection, open wounds, or malignancy. It is not recommended during pregnancy without physician clearance. Our clinical team will conduct a thorough health history review before your first session.
